AIFA
\n<\/strong>The Italian Medicines Agency – AIFA is a public body operating according to the principles of autonomy, transparency and efficiency, under the direction of the Ministry of Health and the supervision of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy. AIFA cooperates with the Regions, the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS), Scientific Institutes for Research, Hospitalisation and Health Care, patient associations, physicians and learned societies, the world of production and distribution. AIFA operates independently, transparently and efficiently, under the guidance and supervision of the Ministry of Health and under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in conjunction with the Regions – in particular through the Permanent Conference between State, Autonomous Regions and Provinces – the Istituto Superiore di Sanit\u00e0, Scientific Institutes for Research, Hospitalisation and Healthcare, Patient Associations, Practitioners, Scientific Societies, the production and distribution system.<\/p>\n

TRANSCRIME
\n<\/strong>Transcrime is the Joint research centre on transnational crime of the Universit\u00e0 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, the Alma Mater Studiorum Universit\u00e0 di Bologna and the Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Perugia. The centre, directed by Professor Ernesto Ugo Savona, is based in Milan and has a staff of about 30 people. Transcrime is entirely funded by contracts and funding from private corporations and local, national and international public institutions. Transcrime is also a key supporting body of the education activities provided by the Universit\u00e0 Cattolica of Milan. In particular, the centre supports the coordination of the Master\u2019s degree in Public Policies \u2013 curriculum Security Policies (PoliSi) and the International Ph.D. in Criminology.<\/p>\n

\nCrime&tech srl is the spin-off company of Universit\u00e0 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore-Transcrime. Crime&tech translates the research of Transcrime into analyses, models and tools to assess, prevent and reduce security and crime risks.<\/p>\n

SAFE
\n<\/strong>SAFE, Security and Freedom for Europe, is a no-profit association specialised in the design and implementation of EU-funded projects in the area of security, defence, peace, stability and fundamental rights. Amongst the services it provides feature, the provision of training and equipment, top-level policy advice, technical competence from experienced practitioners, effective project management and innovative monitoring and evaluation. Within the MEDI-THEFT project SAFE handles project management and communication, acting also as a contact point among Partners of the Consortium.<\/p>\n

ISTITUTO POLIGRAFICO \u2013 ZECCA DELLO STATO
\n<\/strong>The Italian Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (IPZS) (State Mint and Polygraphic Institute), founded in 1928, is situated at the via Salaria 691 in Rome. As well as producing coins, passports, and postage stamps for Italy, it serves the micro-states of the Vatican City, San Marino, and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. It also publishes books under the imprint Libreria dello Stato. In 2002, IPZS became a public limited company (societ\u00e0 per azioni or SpA) with the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (Ministero dell’Economia e delle Finanze) as sole shareholder.
\nThanks to the production of drug traceable labels, the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato supports the Italian institutions in fighting medicine counterfeiting. It stands out as a reference point and a major partner of public administration in the implementation of safety measures to increase public health protection.<\/p>\n

AME
\n<\/strong>Affordable Medicines Europe represents Europe\u2019s licensed parallel distribution industry, an integral part of the European pharmaceutical market that adds value to society by introducing price competition \u2013 especially for patented medicines \u2013 and a supplementary layer of product safety. In this its members work everyday to make medicines more affordable for European healthcare systems and patients. The industry has an annual turnover of 5.5 billion Euro. There are more than 120 companies in 23 EU\/EEA Member States as members. These members account for approximately 80% of the total parallel import market volume in the EU\/EEA. Membership of Affordable Medicines Europe is exclusive to companies holding a wholesale (GDP) license (export and import). All importing members furthermore are GMP licensed. Affordable Medicines Europe is managed from Brussels by its Secretariat.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Serbia was founded by the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No. 84\/04 and 85\/05 \u2013 another law). Acting Director of the Agency is Sasa Jacovic, M.D.sp. Its mission is to contribute to the accomplishment of the basic human right for quality, efficacious and safe medicines and medical devices accessibility as well as to promote and enhance public and animal health through issuing marketing authorizations of solely quality, safe and efficacious medicinal products and medical devices, providing adequate information in order to ensure a safe and rational use of such medicinal products and medical devices, and quality control of medicinal products and medical devices which is in full compliance with all the national and international laws and standards.<\/p>\n

ARMA DEI CARABINIERI
\n<\/strong>The Carabinieri Corps is the largest Italian Police Force, counting on 105.000 officers. In its dual role as a Police and Armed Force, the Carabinieri Corps is responsible to carry out a wide range of police and military tasks and is ever present in the lives of the citizens, from the largest city in Italy to the faraway village. Highly experienced in investigations involving the theft of medicines, they participate through their health protection and counterfeit unit. Since January 2017, the ‘Nucleo Carabinieri AIFA’ was established at the AIFA (Italian Medicines Agency), which is directly dependent on the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Health, for supervision and control tasks in the pharmaceutical sector and info-operative osmosis with institutional bodies, territorial NAS and with the other branches of the Corps.<\/p>\n
