The first pilot course for operators and incident commanders of critical infrastructures was just completed at the NBC School of Rieti. The course was conducted in the framework of the EU funded Project RESIST of which SAFE is the leading partner.

The training was jointly implemented by the personnel of the NBC School of Rieti, the Italian Fire Department (Corpo Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco) and Roma Tor Vergata University.

The pilot course aimed at providing participants with capabilities to react to a CBRN event in a train convoy and protect the Critical Infrastructure. A total of 18 participants from Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and Trenitalia were trained. The training set the basis to enhance the preparedness, prevention and protection in case of a CBRN event involving train transport infrastructures.
