The EU Aid Volunteers initiative, promoted by the Commission’s Education, Audio-visual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) in close cooperation with the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) brings together volunteers and organisations from different countries, providing practical support to humanitarian aid projects and contributing to strengthening the local capacity and resilience of disaster-affected communities.
A capacity building program is organized for Aid Volunteers to ensure that candidates are thoroughly prepared before their deployment to a non-EU country to support humanitarian aid and disaster risk management.
On 29th-30th September, SAFE was entrusted with the delivery of an hands-on training on Project Management to candidate EU Aid Volunteers aimed at transferring academic and practical skills on how to best design, deliver and monitor projects in fragile countries, in line with DG ECHO priorities.
