The COVID19 Emergency in Lebanon is steady in its increase, with 1024 confirmed cases to date. The EU CoE P73 Project keeps supporting Lebanon in a joint effort to contrast the spreading of the COVID19.
In fact, in addition to the material and training already delivered, on the 19th of May, 5000 COVID19 complete test kits (which includes the Specific Probes, Primes and Positive Control for tests), arrived in Lebanon and are currently being stored before distribution.
The donation was done by the P73 Project partner RIVM – Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. The tests arrived in safe conditions being delivered in dry ice at a temperature of -80° Celsius.
Following the National Assessment done by the COVID19 Task Force, of which SAFE Senior Associate Emmanuel Bouquot is part, the tests will be distributed among different Lebanese Hospitals, depending on the needs of the infrastructure, and will be provided to the population free of charge.
These tests are an important donation to support the COVID19 emergency in Lebanon as, by early detecting cases, a major outbreak can be avoided.
