2020 began in an unexpected way, the COVID19 become a pandemic striking almost every country in the world. Lebanon was already in a fragile moment and suffered not only the COVID19 but also the dramatic explosion in the port of Beirut.
In such a complex framework, SAFE has been performing a series of activities in support of the emergencies through the EU CoE Project 73. Since the beginning of the emergency, our Team in Lebanon was involved in support of the COVID19 National Committee and provided Strategic Support, Training, assessment of Hospitals and materials to re-operationalise the Grand Sérail and improve the Bio-Protection of the Critical Infrastructure; in parallel, since the 4th of August, our team has been providing strategic and technical support for the explosion of the Port of Beirut through the provision of materials and assessment of dangerous facilities as well as specific training on chemical threats.
Despite the many challenges, the EU CoE Project 73 has performed many activities which moved from a simulation to a real-life event application.
