On March the 11th, SAFE signed an Implementing Partner Agreement (IPA) with the OSCE in the context of the Project “Strengthening the fight against transnational organized crime in South East Europe through improved regional cooperation in asset seizure, confiscation, management and re-use” and in particular the second component of the project “Increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness of asset management, including through, improved regional co-operation”.

The project, in its three components, will last until the 31st of August 2022 for a total of 36 months and with an overall budget of 2.5 million Euros, of which 504.720 dedicated to the second component of the project. The goal of the second component is to “increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of asset management, including through improved regional co-operation for sharing of best practices and enhanced joint work when assets are located abroad. The focus will be on asset management agencies and in particular on operational support to the newly established Balkan Asset Management Interagency Network (BAMIN)”.

The IPA formalizes SAFE as implementing partner of the project, supporting the Balkan Asset Management Interagency Network (BAMIN) and the coordination of the BAMIN Secretariat. Since the signature, SAFE has been working for the organization of the Annual General Meeting, on the planning of a Joint Training and to extend the visibility of the BAMIN.

The Secretariat is working for the realization of a promotional video which will be uploaded on BAMIN Website, as well as on other activities which will allow the Network to improve the cooperation with other Asset Management and Asset Recovery Offices both in the region and outside. These actions will grant a constant exchange of best practices in the field.

More information on the BAMIN network will be available on its website soon!
