Fondazione SAFE’s Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) course, held in May for a group of RAI journalists, has achieved the highest feedback scores in the program’s history. Participants unanimously rated the course’s relevance, utility, training quality, and reliability at 100%, marking it as an unparalleled success in SAFE’s training initiatives.
The BeSAFE HEAT course of May marked the 15th course implemented by Fondazione SAFE. Indeed, from 2021 to 2024, SAFE successfully conducted 15 HEAT courses, training over 150 participants in both Italian and English, preparing them for deployments in hostile settings. BeSAFE HEAT courses, developed in collaboration with elite units from the Italian Armed Forces, are meticulously designed to provide civilian personnel with essential skills and knowledge for navigating high-risk and unstable environments.
2023 was a pivotal year, introducing comprehensive long-term training for 160 RAI journalists and operators, enhancing their capabilities to safely report from conflict zones and unstable areas worldwide. This tailored approach ensures that each course meets the specific operational needs of journalists and technical staff, contributing significantly to their safety and effectiveness in the field.
The remarkable success of this last HEAT course serves as a strong motivation for Fondazione SAFE to continually strive for excellence, pushing us to further enhance our training programs and ensure that our standards of education remain nothing short of exceptional.
