Fondazione SAFE is pleased to announce its collaboration with the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) in organizing the Pre-Deployment Training for Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) Missions and Operations. The course will take place in Brussels from May 5 to 9, 2025, and is specifically designed for personnel already selected for a CSDP mission or operation.
A Recognized Role in Security and Defence Training
Since 2021, Fondazione SAFE has been a full member of the ESDC network of training institutes, a recognition of its leading role in security training across Europe. This strategic collaboration allows SAFE to actively contribute to the development of advanced training programs in the security and defence sector, including HEAT – Hostile Environment Awareness Training and Pre-Deployment Training.
Over the years, SAFE has strengthened its expertise in training personnel assigned to complex operational contexts, providing essential tools and skills to tackle the challenges of international missions. The goal is to ensure that personnel deployed in CSDP missions are adequately prepared to handle critical situations effectively and safely.
Course Objectives
The Pre-Deployment Training is designed to:
- Complement national pre-mission training by integrating a European perspective;
- Harmonize the management culture of CSDP missions, ensuring a consistent and shared approach;
- Facilitate rapid integration and improve the operational readiness of selected personnel.
Through a practical and multidisciplinary approach, the course enables participants to deepen their understanding of the operational principles of CSDP missions, gain updated knowledge on the policies and tools available to fulfill the mandate, and become familiar with the mission environment. Additionally, the program fosters the development of a shared European identity, promoting cooperation and a common vision among participants.
A key feature of the course is the use of realistic scenarios and operational simulations, allowing participants to test the skills acquired in practical situations. With the support of industry experts and experienced trainers, participants will receive targeted preparation aimed at maximizing effectiveness in the field.
