The European INCLUDING (Innovative Cluster for Radiological and Nuclear Emergencies) project brings together infrastructures, equipment and experts from Medical Organizations, Fire Corps, Government Departments, Municipalities, LEAs, Ministries, Research Institutes and Industries operating in the field of radiological and nuclear emergencies throughout the EU.
The aim of this project is to develop a federation in which individual Members can cooperate to provide standardized access to their respective facilities to improve interoperability and allow a more intensive use of expensive equipment.
The ex-NATO base of Monte Calvarina – a training & testing facility of SAFE Foundation since 2021 – has been included in the Federation of European testbeds for training and exercise activities.
The Calvarina ex-base is a unique facility in the Italian panorama, thanks to its size, structure and remote location. It is an ideal facility for private and public actors to organize trainings and simulations for emergency response technologies and procedures.
This milestone represents an important step in the recognition of the Calvarina base as a significant facility for emergencies training activities in Italy and Europe
INCLUDING has announced this important new addition to its testbeds network in its Newsletter: you can read it here.
