Four days of highly specialized training for criminal justice practitioners were concluded in Verona, Italy. With the participation of 22 professionals from Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, and Romania, the training was conducted on the topics of international cooperation and mutual legal assistance in asset recovery and anti-money laundering.

International trainers participated to lead lectures and group exercises, during which judges and prosecutors were able to collaborate in simulated international cooperation procedures for freezing and confiscating criminal assets.

The training concluded with an exclusive side event held in the historical building of Porta Palio in the heart of Verona.
Focusing on the fight against money laundering and confiscation of assets, the event was supported by the Municipality of Verona and by the Order of the Accountants and featured many field-specific representatives from the private and public sector.

EUROMED Justice trainings are organized by the SAFE and EPLO Consortium. The next training will be held in March and is focused on environmental crimes.
