Reflection on COVID-19 and the need for better management of CBRN events by Professor Michele Nones, Vicepresident of Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) and representative of the Italian Cluster CBRN P3 (cbrnitalia.it), of which Associazione SAFE and various partners of the EU funded projects RESIST (https://project-resist.eu/) e TRANSTUN (https://transtun-project.eu/) – for increased preparedness and response towards CBRN events affecting EU Critical Infrastructures – are members.
The article has at its core the current outbreak of the COVID-19 in Italy and the need for not making the same mistakes again in the future. In particular, the article suggests the need to reconsider an approach involving Prevention, Preparation and Protection to better position us against CBRN events – the same founding principles at the heart of the Cluster CBRN P3 Mission.
