Fondazione SAFE is pleased to announce a public call for proposals for the development of three immersive Extended Reality (XR) training scenarios under the EU-funded rescEU-CBRN-DSIM-IT project. This initiative aims to strengthen the capabilities of first responders and experts in managing emergencies involving chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats.

Project Scope

The selected contractor will develop three distinct XR training scenarios:

  • Chemical Security Incident: Simulating a chemical attack in a public space.
  • Nuclear Power Plant Emergency: Addressing radiological incidents in urban environments.
  • Biological Security Incident: Managing biological threats in public venues.

Project Details

  • Budget: Up to €200,000 (VAT excluded).
  • Completion Timeline: By 31 July 2025.
  • Eligibility: Proposals are open to single operators with demonstrable expertise in XR development, 3D environments, and emergency training solutions. Consortia are not eligible.

Technical Requirements

  • Training Platform: Must support at least 20 simultaneous users on various devices (standalone or cloud-based).
  • 3D Environment: Simulations should replicate an area of 1 sq. km, inspired by the SAFE Calvarina base, and include:
    • An urban area,
    • A stadium,
    • A nuclear power plant.
  • 3D Models Library: Should feature vehicles from rescEU capacity (10+), mobile laboratories, and field logistics facilities, inter alia.
