Fondazione SAFE is proud to report significant advancements in the HOTHREAT project, an EU-funded initiative focused on bolstering Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and explosive (CBRNe) protection for hotels and conference centers. The project, launched to address the unique vulnerabilities of these spaces, unites 19 partners across eight European member states to develop targeted security measures and enhance personnel skills in detecting and addressing CBRNe risks.

During the recent consortium meeting in Athens, Fondazione SAFE presented its latest contributions to the project, showcasing comprehensive guidelines for CBRNe protection systems. These new guidelines span critical areas, including:

  • Prevention and response protocols tailored for CBRNe-related incidents in hospitality settings.
  • Enhanced food safety measures designed specifically for hotel catering services.
  • Epidemiological investigation models to quickly address potential threats and protect high-profile guests.
  • Specialized cleaning protocols for staff responding to contamination scenarios.

Additionally, Fondazione SAFE previewed the upcoming HOTHREAT handbook, a central training resource designed for hotel staff and emergency responders. This handbook will serve as a core educational tool in training sessions planned across Europe, offering hotels and conference centers essential knowledge and practical techniques for safeguarding public safety.

Through its pivotal role in the HOTHREAT project, Fondazione SAFE continues to drive the development of innovative and effective CBRNe protection strategies, helping secure some of Europe’s most frequented spaces against emerging threats.
