Joint Venture Signed between SAFE and SMART Revolution – joint HEAT trainings in Verona from mid-2020

SAFE is pleased to announce the launch of a new Joint Venture agreement with SMART Revolution. On the 17^th of December, SAFE and SMART signed the agreement which will further strengthen SAFE capacities in the field of security.

Smart Revolution aims at promoting a new, efficient, dynamic and multidimensional approach inspired by the most advanced systems available at the international level and operating through the synergies and interrelations between the different sectors of activity.

This joint venture aims at cooperating in developing and managing a Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) program. HEAT training focuses on different threats that could emerge in conflict or post-conflict areas and is based on a comprehensive approach combining theory with highly realistic live scenarios. Through this training, the participants can apply and test actions that could be life-saving.

The joint venture will allow the definition of operationalization of HEAT training starting from spring/summer 2020, applying an innovative methodology, leveraging expertise from Italian security actors and offering a top-quality level HEAT training implementation. The new offer of HEAT training, which aims at complementing the Italy-based HEAT programs with a focus on trainees from private sector actors and NGOs, will be organized in Verona and the neighboring cities, close to one of SAFE HQs. This new stream of activity will be embedded in the ongoing training and capacity building efforts of SAFE.
