In the week 7-11 October SAFE staff and B&S Europe staff engaged in the EULEAD project in Libya have successfully completed the HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training), complemented by the RACFA medical component, in view of deployment in Tripoli in the coming weeks.

The training, certified by the Security Training Authority (UK) and Belgian Tactical Medical faculty, has been implemented by Auriex (BE). It has allowed participants to acquire competences in medical first response in a hostile environment, enhanced skills for personal security awareness, competences in the use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and handling of highly stressful situations.

The HEAT training is a standard requirement for EU personnel deployed in conflict or post-conflict context, and SAFE decided to include this training in its duty of care not only for EULEAD, but also for any future project in similar countries of operations.
